2012 Brooklyn Meadows Fall Softball“A Tradition in Quality Softball”

Welcome to Brooklyn’s Best Softball League!!!!!!!!!!! This year we are celebrating our 21st Anniversary of the Sunday Fall softball.  We have full confidence that 2012 is going to be highly rewarding, exciting, and a fun season for everyone involved. We are more than just a league, we are a family, and our top priority is to provide all our members with an excellent softball experience as we strive to: “Treat Everyone like a Champion”!!!

If you want to play in league that cares and has a passion and commitment to its softball family, then this is the league for you. We have the best competition and fields in Brooklyn, with games umpired by the finest ASA certified, fully uniformed, and highly skilled officials. This league was built on and continues to run on strong rivalries, lasting friendships, and enthusiastic players.  As commissioner and head umpire it is my unique privilege and duty to make sure this spirit endures throughout the season.

Information is as follows:

  • Sunday Game Times are 8:30 am or 12:30pm
  • Modified Fast Pitched Softball Doubleheaders played on Brooklyn’s Best Dirt Fields - “like the game is ought to be played”
  • Beautiful Fields Include : Red Hook, Marine & Prospect Park
  • Beautiful Fields include : Ave K & E, 58th str, Shore Road, Starrett City
  • We have C, D, and E level divisions based on the quality level of your pitching
  • OPENING DAY IS SUNDAY September 9th, 2011
  • 7 Week Regular Season – 14 Games, weather permitting
  • 3 Week Post Season in a 2 out of 3 format
  • $$$$$CASH PRIZES$$$$ will be awarded

Last year 40 teams participated and the action will even be stronger and better in 2011, so please secure your place in this top notch league by registering at the following 2 scheduled meetings:

  1. 2 Registration Dates : August 9th& 16  from 7pm – 8:30 pm

MAYHEM Happened in the BMSL 1st Round Playoff Action

Much like the real world, Mayhem can happen at any time..

• WolfPack fairly ended Raw Deal’s season 10-3 & 6-2
• After an easy 12-2 game one victory over the Cardinals, Team NYL had to overcome a five fun deficit in 7th inning in game two to pull out a 9-7 victory. After all this Mayhem, Team NYL now advances.
• DaCore stripped the Knight of their honor by embarrassing those 15-0 and then slugged their way to a 14-10 sweep to advance.
• Blackhawks and Straight Ballerz played a classic series where the umpires earned their money. Game one was a wild 13-12 back and forth 8 inning affair that the Blackhawks pulled out. The straight Ballerz didn’t get down as in game two they answered gut check time with a heart stopping 7-6 win to force a deceive game 3. Speaking of game three, the Ballerz prevailed 7-5. Great series, its shame somebody had to lose. Well done guys


• Farrels gave the A’s and F by sweeping them 7-6 & 5-2 in two good games and a hard fought series.
• Keeping the theme of well played series, the GoodFellas edged Los Toros 7-6 in the opener and then outlasted the bull rush in 9 innings in game to by the score of 6-4. Again, congrats to both teams. In the playoffs anything can happen and it usually does.
• Fighting Gallos and Brew Crew played 3 amazing Games. Game one saw the Gallos pull out a tight 3-2 decision, but Brew Crew came back to tie the series with an excellent 6-5 win. In game three, The Gallos found a way to advance by earning a 6-4 victory to move on. True Playoff Grit under the duress of Mayhem


• The MVP’s lived up to their name by sweeping the Coney Island Reds 3-2 & 6-5 to move on. Playoff Mayhem continues
• The Marauders got off to a hot playoff start by defeating Softball Anarchy in game one 5-3, but the mayhem happened as anarchy ruled 11-0 & 11-4 to advance and ending mayhem.

Latest BMSL Action


• Raw Deal hunted down the Blackhawks 11-0 & 6-2
• Wolfpack ate the birds alive in game one 11-1, but the Cardinals came back from the dead and tamed the pack 9-7 in the finale.


• Farrels won two big games over the Fighting Gallos 5-4 & 6-1
• Syndicate got “OG” on Sunday and won all three easily over the Athletics 11-2,13-5, and 10-1
• The Brew Crew deserved to have an extra brew after winning 5 games this weekend. Om Saturday they swept Fratt House 6-1 & 8-2. Then on Sunday. They swept Straight Ballerz 14-8 & 10-2 and then rudely interrupted the Gentlemen’s season by crushing them 9-0. Awesome!!!!!
• A long day got longer for the Gentlemen as the Spartan’s conquered them 14-3 & 6-3.
• GoodFellas earned for the family last Sunday as they posted a business like 7-0 over Bring the Pain
• Los Toros stampeded Fratt House 6-3 & 11-2


• Softball Anarchy humbled the MVP’s 9-5 & 6-0
• The Wolf Pack took two of three versus the Coney Island reds by the score of 4-1 & 7-4. The Reds salvaged their day by winning 6-4



Playoffs are almost here

Time to swing and try and knock that ball out the park




• Team NYL crunched Da Core for a clean 6-0 win, but then faltered in the nightcap 6-4 as Da Core strengthen to earn the split
• BlackHawks devoured the Cardinals 8-2 & 9-2
• The Knights jousted the Ballerz 9-7 but then were decapitated in the nightcap 13-3
• WolfPack got wilderness ghetto and embarrassed Raw Deal 16-0 & 25-4 – ugly


• The Spartans screwed the Screwballs 8-5, but in game 2 the silly men got serious and won 1-0.
• The GoodFellas showed grace and class to defeat the Super Freaks 7-6. In the second game, the Freaks let it all out and wiped out the original gangsters 9-7
• SickFish gave Fratt House a failing grade by expelling them in two blowouts 19-2 & 6-1
• Ball Breakers rode the momentum of a big game one 18-3 victory to pull off the sweep by winning 8-7 in game 2 over the Ball Breakers.
• Bed-Sty outlasted Cibeo 10-8 in game one, but game two was all Dominican Power as they blasted their way to a 13-8 victory.
• The bulls were not running last Sunday as the A’s swept Los Toros 10-4 & 10-7.
• Syndicate was all business and inflicted pain on Bring the Pain by sweeping them 6-4 & 8-7
• Brew Crew-Canal Bar split two eerily similar games 6-3 & 6-4


• Marauders embarrassed Beta Psi Alpha 23-13 & 11-1 – ughhh
• WolfPack swept Who’s Next 13-4 & 12-2
• MVP’s and Softball Anarchy traded blows last week as they each won 10-4 & 5-4 , respectively

This Sunday, July 8th is the last week of the regular season.  July 16th will be makeup games.  Be prepared to play more than 2 games if your team has played 18-20 games.
