Hello Everyone:

We are back and ready for action this coming Sunday May 2nd, 2011

 

Here are some points to note/remember:

  1. Per their request the Gentlemen and Brew Crew played on Easter Sunday with the Gentlemen pulling off a 9-3 and 9-8 holiday sweep.
  2. A new Team “Beast Mode” has joined the “C” league with a 1-1 record. Good luck
  3. Another New team “Pullouts” has joined the “D” league with a 0-0 record and will make up games at a later date.
  4. Existing BMSL team Blackhawks has moved from the “C” to the “D” league.
  5. The Week 2 Schedule is effect for this Sunday and all standings have been updated
  6. Barring rainouts playoffs will begin July 31st.  August 7th is the alternative beginning date for the post-season depending on weather.
  7. The field tab has google map directions on it for your convenience.

Hello Everyone:

Due to last week’s rain out there is an extension for picture ID’s, rosters, and uniforms. The new Cut-Off date is May 15th, 2011.

In addition,

  1. The EH rule has been updated. Please go to the Rules tab for clarification.
  2. On Opening weekend the Cardinal – Team NYL scores were 5-4 and 16-13. Standings reflect this information
  3. If you wish to provide team stats and Sunday MVP’s please email me highlights and a spreadsheet with stats at bknysoftball@gmail.com so I can post them.

Sunday April 24th is Easter and the entire league is off (Bye Week). I wish you and all your family a wonderful Holiday.

Hello Teams:
Here are the Week 1 Scores and Highlights:

C League

• The Outlaws in 9 innings earned a 7-5 doubleheader spilt over Talk is Cheap, who won 6-2 in the night cap.
• Taby swept the Brownsville Bumz 10-2 7-1
• The Brooklyn Knights rallied for 6 runs in the 6th inning in game one over Sportspage to earn a 9-7 victory. Sportspage exacted revenge with an 11-1 mercy in game two.
• Raw Deal efficiently swept Blackhawks 5-4 and 4-0
• The Tribe exploded for 9 runs in the 5th inning to earn a game one 9-8 victory over the Bombers and finished off the sweep with a 5-3 win in game 2.
• In dramatic fashion the Cardinals scored 2 in the bottom of the 7th to defeat Team NYL 5-4 and completed the sweep with a football style 16-13 victory in game 2.
• Coney Island Warriors destroyed Brooklyn South 23-1 and 20-10 last week.
• Street Family and Hit Men played a competitive doubleheader where in game one Street Family won 2-0 only to have the Hit Men take Game 2 by the score of 5-3

D League

• “We are” Spartans hung on and swept Instant Classics by the scores of 17-13 and 5-2
• Fighting Gallos defeated Honey Do’s in a pair of interesting games by the scores of 4-0 & 11-10
• Despite the play of Hector & Ivan Salcedo, plus the long ball power of Ryan Robichaud & Greg Golko, the Furies were swept by The Gentleman by the scores of 9-8 & 17-5.
• The Syndicate kept it professional and blasted the Bandits 13-6 and 10-2
• In a classic doubleheader the Tianos defeated the Wild Bunch 15-14 in game one only to have the Bunch earn a hard fought game to 4-3 victory and come away with a split.
• The money ball A’s swept the Brew Crew 8-3 and 4-3
• Never go against the family GoodFellas beat Bring the Pain 6-2 in the opener, but the Pain brought the pain in game 2 and came out on top by the score of 9-7
• Cibeo crushed Wolf Pack I 14-3 14-0.
• Farrell’s spewed venom of their own and defeated Brooklyn Venom 16-2 10-4
• Chris Team and Donkey Punchers squared off last Sunday and split a twin bill. Dunkey won 10-5 and Chris squad held on for an 8-6 win.
• D.D. Bandits got busy and swept Ball Breakers 3-1 and 5-4

Key Points to Remember:

1. Sunday April 24th is Easter and the entire league is off (Bye Week)
2. C and D Division Standings have been posted on this website.
3. Final Rosters are Due May 8th
4. Please return your self addressed envelope to Tony Ferrazzo by May 8th with your final Rosters
5. Uniforms are required and signed picture I.D.’s due on May 8th. Mangers please mail Tony Ferrazo all your players signed picture I.D by May 8th.  In addition, all managers must carry a copy of your team’s signed picture I.D.’s to the field every week.
